Pigeons Carry My News/Hot Buttered Booty  Kings Have Long Arms

Info: (Chips)   Adrian Flannagan has been subverting the Sheffield scene for many years now, in his old band Ha! Logic, and with new project Kings Have Long Arms – which is basically him locked in a room with I-Monster’s synths.    ‘Pigeons Carry My News’ is his third single, and after the gloriously squelchy Fat Trucker-isms of previous outings ‘Prince Shops at Bardwells’ and ‘Re-enter the Two-tone Deaf’, this does this unthinkable and is actually a million times better than its predecessors.    It is, no less, a quirky slice of pure electronic pop, a single that deserves to do the same as I-Monsters’s ‘Daydream in Blue’ – make the top 20 on a “proper” release. Here at L2SB we vaguely remember the song being played in later Ha! Logic sets, if so it goes to show that great tunes will make their way onto vinyl eventually.    The flipside is an ironic hi-NRG disco sleazefest that’s almost, but not quite, as good as the a-side.
